Friday August 29 Monthly Gathering (MOG)
"The Space Elevator" Presented by Will Ware
Today space travel depends on rockets, too dangerous and expensive for serious work in space. Carbon nanotube manufacturing will soon enable construction of an elevator to space. Exploration, cheap electric power, asteroid mining, and pharmaceutical advances will quickly follow. Elevators built on Earth, the Moon and Mars will make solar system vacations an affordable commonplace. Also, miscellaneous nanotech news tidbits.
The doors open at 7:00 PM for lots of conversation and snacks; the program begins at 8:00 and
will last an hour or so depending upon interest.

Friends and Guests Welcome
The doors open at 7:00 PM for lots of conversation and snacks; the program
begins at 8:00 and lasts an hour or so depending upon interest. Mensans
are welcome to bring a friend as well. After the program ends, more
socializing and more snacking.
SHARING ENCOURAGED
Members are asked to bring a snack to share, as the MOG will not be providing
anything beyond
some soft drinks and ice. There will be a voluntary contribution bowl ($3:00 -
